Accessibility statement
I want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, screen magnification, voice control, high-contrast settings, or other assistive technology. If you need legal help, the website shouldn't be the obstacle.
My commitment
My goal is for bettercallvance.com to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA (opens in a new tab). I also check the site against the newer WCAG 2.2 Level AA requirements, such as keeping keyboard focus visible behind sticky bars and making tap targets large enough.
This statement describes my goal and the work done toward it. It is not a certification, and no website can promise it works perfectly for every person and every device.
What I've done
The site was last reviewed on . The review combined automated scanning with manual and scripted testing, including:
- completing every intake form using only a keyboard, including the multi-step questionnaires;
- checking labels, error messages, and step changes as a screen reader would receive them;
- zooming to 400% and narrowing the screen to 320 pixels, increasing text spacing, and enlarging text to 200%;
- checking color contrast, including hover, focus, and error states;
- testing with reduced-motion and Windows high-contrast (forced colors) settings; and
- checking that the Spanish pages and Spanish phrases are marked as Spanish for screen readers.
Problems found in that review were fixed. Automated accessibility checks run each time the site is updated.
Known limitations
- A few promotional illustrations on the home page include words as part of the artwork. Each one has a text description that includes those words.
- The site uses Google's advertising measurement tag. It doesn't add anything you see or interact with, but I don't control that code.
- Links to city, county, state, and court websites go to sites I don't control. Their accessibility may differ from this site's.
- Most of the site is in English. The tenant habitability pages are also in Spanish (versión en español).
- Testing can't cover every combination of browser, device, and assistive technology. If something doesn't work for you, please tell me.
